Toxoplasma gondii
Toxoplasmose (Toxoplasmosis)
Kingdom: Protozoa | Phylum: Apicomplexa | Class: Coccidea | Family: Toxoplasmatidae
T. gondii reproduction (schizogony and gamogony) in the entero-epithelial cells of a cat. Numerous schizonts are visible.
T. gondii cyst (containing bradyzoites) in the brain of a mouse.
 
Final hosts: Cats.
Intermediate hosts: Typically rodents, but almost any other mammal species.
Location: The intestinal mucosa (schizonts, gamonts and oocysts) of final host or in cysts (containing tachyzoites or bradyzoites) in various tissues of intermediate host animals.
