Zoonotic cestodes V | Order: Pseudophyllidea | Family: Diphyllobothriidae
Adults (length up to 20 m). Short, broad mature segments having a single, centrally located genital opening each.
Gravid segment. Genital organs and genital opening visible.
 
Final hosts: Man and fish-eating mammals, incl. cats and dogs.
Intermediate hosts required: Copepod crustaceans (1st) and freshwater fish (2nd).
Location: Adult tapeworms in the small intestine of final hosts.
