Specific morphology: Adult (length: 1.5-2.5 mm). Long-nosed louse with elongated head and body. Relatively slim abdominal segments without brown, chitinous plates around bilateral spiracles. | |

General morphology of sucking lice: Wingless, dorso-ventrally flattened insects.
Head: Relatively narrow, pointed front with thin sucking mouthparts, long lateral antennae.
Thorax: Strong legs, large claws for grasping.
Abdominal segments: Black when blood-filled, wider than thorax, lateral spiracles with brown plates. | |
