Medium-sized, grey colonies.
 
 
 
The same Blood Agar plate examined with transmitted light. There is a haemolytic zone around the colonies. This is more easily seen if the colonies are removed from the surface of the agar.
General characteristics: Gram-negative rods. Catalase- and oxidase-positive. Attacks sugars fermentatively. Non-motile.
