Small to medium sized, grey colonies.

| The same Blood Agar plate examined with transmitted light. There is a zone of beta-haemolysis under the colonies. This can only be seen if a colony is removed from the surface of the agar. |

| General characteristics: Gram-negative. Catalase- and oxidase-positive. Motile. Does not attack sugars. Obligately aerobic. |
