Small to medium sized, grey colonies.
 
 
 
The same Blood Agar plate examined with transmitted light. There is a zone of beta-haemolysis under the colonies. This can only be seen if a colony is removed from the surface of the agar.
General characteristics: Gram-negative. Catalase- and oxidase-positive. Motile. Does not attack sugars. Obligately aerobic.
