Blood Agar plate which has been incubated with 5% carbondioxide for 24 hours. Small, grey-white, convex colonies.

Previous names: Corynebacterium pyogenes, Actinomyces pyogenes.

General characteristics: Gram-negative. Catalase- and oxidase-positive. Non-motile. Attacks sugars by fermentation.
