| A hydatid cyst (10 x 15 cm) in the liver from a human patient. The hydatid is surrounded by a multilayered host capsule containing protoscolices (hydatid sand) and daughter cysts. Hydatids may also be found in other organs and may be pathogenic. Surgical removal possible, but the operation is complicated. |
