Clostridium perfringens in TSC Agar.
Clostridium sporogenes in TSC Agar.
This medium is used for the isolation and enumeration of hydrogen sulphide producing clostridia. The medium provides good growth conditions for clostridia, whilst the presence of cycloserine inhibits other bacteria. Clostridia that produce hydrogen sulphide will produce colonies that are surrounded by a black zone due to the hydrogen sulphide reacting with an iron salt in the medium.
