Kings B Agar
Kings B Agar Kings B Agar
Pseudomonas fluorescens and other Pseudomonas species produces pyoverdin, which fluoresces in ultraviolet light when grown on Kings B agar. This pigment is watersoluble and diffuses into the agar around the colonies.
Acinetobacter produces no pigments.

This medium is used for detection and isolation of fluorescent bacteria, particularly Pseudomonas fluorescens, but may also be used to demonstrate pigmentation of other bacteria.
