Carbohydrate Fermentation with Gas-production (Carbohydrate Fermentation 1)
The purpose of this test is to determine whether an organism can ferment a specific carbohydrate with production of acid and gas. In this example glucose is used. The indicator is bromthymol blue and turns yellow when pH is low. Gas produced is collected in an inverted Durham tube.
