Alpha-Methyl-D-Mannoside
The purpose of this test is to determine whether an organism can ferment alpha-methyl-D-mannoside with production of acid. This is typically used to differentiate between species in the genus Listeria. The indicator used in this medium is bromthymol blue and turns yellow when pH is low.

1. Uninoculated medium.

2. Positive reaction: Listeria monocytogenes.
