Shewanella putrefaciens
Shewanella putrefaciens
Small to medium-sized colonies that are yellow-orange or brown in colour. In areas of confluent growth the colonies become dark, probably due to formation of hydrogen sulphide. The culture has a fish-like smell. This culture has been incubated at 30°C.

 
 
 
 
General characteristics: Gram-negative rods. Catalase and oxidase-positive. Does not attack sugars. Motile.
