| Large rods with a diameter > 0.9 µm. The cell a little up and to the right of the centre of the picture contains both a spore (at the top of the cell) and a crystal (at the bottom end of the cell). The cell in the top right corner of the picture contains a spore in the bottom part of the cell and a crystal in the top part. The sediment that is seen throughout the preparation is crystals that have been released from the cells. Usually motile. |
