Bacillus megaterium

Mega means large and teras, teratis means monster. The rods are long and have a diameter > 0.9 µm. They contain granula of poly-ß-hydroxybutyrate. The spores are usually ellipsoidal and do not cause swelling of the sporangium. Usually motile.
