Alcaligenes faecalis
Alcaligenes faecalis
Small, grey, smooth colonies which cause no alteration of the blood. The culture has been incubated at 30°C.

 
General characteristics: Gram-negative. Catalase- and oxidase-positive. Motile. Obligately aerobic. Does not attack sugars. As non-fermentative Gram-negative rods, they are art of the psychrotropic spoilage flora of raw foods. Optimum temperature for growth is 20 - 37°C.
